The Bhutan Food and Drug Authority (BFDA), Ministry of Health conducted a 4-day induction programme for its 19 new recruits, from 11 to 14 March 2024 at the BFDA head office. The induction programme formally welcomed the new appointees to the BFDA fraternity and provided them with the opportunity to understand the specific roles and responsibilities of the various divisions and sections, in protecting and advancing health and safety of the nation through regulation of food, plant, animal, medical products and narcotics.
Presentations were delivered on the Civil Service Performance Standard and mandates of each division and section within BFDA. Participants gained insights into the key legislations and practices vital for ensuring Public Health, Plant and Animal Biosecurity as well as Food Quality and Safety. The induction program also encouraged discussions on enhancing the current service delivery practices, reflecting BFDA’s commitment to continually develop human resource capacity and capability for efficient service delivery. This initiative underscores BFDA’S unwavering dedication to upholding high standards and fostering a culture of excellence in regulatory practices for a healthier Drukyul.
